With fashion week almost wrapping up in Milan, we thought we would share our favorite looks from New York and London - stay tuned for our favorites from Italy and Paris. If there are a few key trends of the season it would be, new renditions on the power suit, the Victorian-era is back but with modern details and shoes that lace up, both flats and heels, will be a key accessory trend come fall.

This season Gilles Mendel pulled inspiration from Old Hollywood and the "femme libérée” like Louise Brooks and Katherine Hepburn. The rich and moody color palette of garnet, jade and scarlet red, were pulled from the autumnal landscapes of painter Tom Thomson. The designer walked us through his collection at Ladurée in New York, a place that he said reflecting is "like coming home", since he used to frequent the original Paris boutique as a child. He pointed out the crimping on the organza gowns and the intricate lace details on the dresses, which gave the pieces an almost 3-D effect.

"Take Heart", this was the motto Claudia Li imbued into her fall collection. Talking to ROSE & IVY at her presentation, she said she wanted to spread hope this season infusing her fall collection with color including cactus greens and invigorating magentas. Inspired by the Turkish fairytale ‘The Silent Princess’, she interpreted the story through gauzy organza dresses and blouses, tailored suits and subtle floral prints.

Achingly romantic with whispers of the Victorian era found in floral brocades, cinched bustiers and gloves that wrapped daintily around the wrists.

Josep Font took his runway show from New York to London for a change of scenery. The confection colored collection was anchored with a belt that folded into a lily and and lotus petals - a dreamy collection.
