Interior Idea to Try | Mixing Old & New

If you are a hopeless romantic like me, you might tend to lean towards older pieces that have a story behind them, like a gilded mirror, a faded facade or ornate detailing.  While I love the latter details (hopelessly!), I also do gravitate towards to clean lines found in Scandinavian design.  This Parisian interior by Diego Delgado-Elias makes a case for both elements.  The bare bones walls are made more inviting by an elaborate gold mirror, but left a bit subdued with modern furniture.  So which do you perfer, old or new?
