The Only Book You Need for Growing a Flower Garden Courtesy of Floret Farm

ROSE & IVY Journal Spring Gardening Floret Flower's Cut Flower Garden Book

The book to buy for spring for avid or novice gardeners is courtesy of Floret Flower's debut book, Floret Farm's Cut Flower Garden : Grow, Harvest, and Arrange Stunning Seasonal Blooms by Erin Benzakein.  This is one of the most informative and beautifully put together books about flowers and gardening that I might have ever laid my eyes on - it is the ultimate companion for seasonal flower growing. Whether you have acres to sow, or a small city porch to awaken with blooms, she breaks it down into basic terms, so you don't have to worry about what to do once you bring out the shovel, pitchfork or hand shovel (in my case).

Right now is the perfect time to purchase the book so that you can begin cultivating for summer.  What could be better than enjoying a long summer day with plants that you grew from the beginning?  For the summer season, she delves into not only flowers, like cosmos, dahlias, delphiniums, roses but edibles too, including herbs and tomatoes. She also walks you through the steps for early fall and winter planting so that you are guaranteed a spring garden with a myriad of flowers in various shades and sizes.

I love it when people turn something small into something larger than life.  While she cultivates many different varieties, she only has a mere 2 acres to do so.  It is quite awe inspiring that she can grow as many flowers as featured in the book (I mean, this photograph that was posted on Instagram that went viral a million times over), it just shows that if you put love and thought into something, it can literally blossom.
