How Tastemaker MaCenna Lee Approaches Gift Giving

MaCenna Lee has built a loyal following with her ingenious approach to restoring thrifted finds and sharing her room makeovers on her social media and her popular YouTube channel, XO, MaCenna. She recently launched her candle line Auden Lueur, which melds her passion for creating a cozy home but also for the environment since each vessel was designed to be repurposed when finished. She spoke with R&I about how she approaches the holiday season with intention and her go-to items that will delight any person on your list this year.

What is your approach to gift giving each holiday season?

I love to be really thoughtful with the gifts that I give every year. Really thinking about the person I'm gifting to and make it special and unique to them! Maybe it's something that they have mentioned that they really wanted at some point during the year OR something I know they would love but would never purchase for themselves. 

What are three items you would give?

When I simply can't think of a gift for someone, I always love to gift a candle ... because who doesn't love a good candle (I know I do). This is why I designed the perfect candle for gifting with a focus on sustainability and the opportunity to repurpose the beautiful vessel in creative ways in your home! You can easily add to this gift with a pretty matchbook and candle care kit. 

I recently purchased a cozy, heated throw blanket for when I'm relaxing in the living room and I LOVE it! I can't wait to give this as gifts to family/friends that I know would love it. 

For the cook or chef in our lives, I love to gift something quality for the kitchen like my favorite cookware from Caraway or these cute measuring cups.
