This exceptional UNESCO World Heritage site, located in the northern part of the country, welcomes visitors far and wide with its signature earthen terracotta roofs, chromatic tiled facades, fresh Portuguese cuisine, history, and its newest endeavor WOW, a new cultural center that is making a splash. I had the privilege to travel there in April and experience all this enriching destination had to offer including museums—I’ll never look at a cork the same way again—and memorable meals.
