Simple Scandinavian Decoration Ideas For the Holiday Season

ROSE & IVY Simple Decoration Ideas Inspired by Scandinavia For the Holiday Season

About a week ago, I walked by my first Christmas tree stand in Brooklyn and because of the strangeness of the year, it kind of made me realize that time is moving, even though so often I feel like I am stuck somewhere in March or April. While all of the holidays this year are different than normal—sadly, I don’t even think I’ll see the Rockefeller Christmas Tree this year—I still want to spruce up my apartment with decorations. For this, I always look to Scandinavia for ideas, like the calming and minimal decorations pictured here. I have also included some picks to help you deck the halls this year!

A Note On Holiday Decor: I am not sure if it’s living in a city, but every December 26th through after the new year, holiday garland and decorations end up on the curb, destined for a landfill. In my efforts to focus on sustainability, if storage space is low and you know you won’t keep your decorations, opt for foliage, it’s festive and can be composted!
