A R&I Mini Guide | Industry City, Brooklyn
Brooklyn neighborhoods are constantly evolving and changing. Much like the rest of New York if you don’t visit them regularly you might not recognize a certain corner. Industry City is more off the beaten path than most neighborhoods that the typical visitor or even local New Yorker might head to, but it is well worth it for the cool industrial vibes alone. Many retailers are moving in and taking advantage of the new area and space something that is hard to come By in other areas. I headed there to check it out and here is what I found.
The food scene
Food halls are nothing new in New York or big cities at this point but what I like about this spot is how spread out the food is and can be discovered as you walk through the various buildings.
Avocaderia | Yep, just like it sounds this place taps into avocado hysteria. Here you can find this creamy meal staple served on toast, in salads or bowls.
Extraction Lab | Good coffee discoveries make us giddy. Extraction lab serves up a robust menu of coffee sourced from around the globe alongside interesting brewing contraptions. We love the airy space that is ideal for getting working done or just relaxing with friends.
Yaso Tangbao | We trek around nyc to find the best Soup dumplings, and this place is one of our favorites. There are a few types to pick from, we also love the vegetable filled bao buns. But note to x, they need to reconfigure how they serve the dumplings, 5 dumplings in a plastic is not good for the planet.
Colson Patisserie | For something sweet stop by Colson Patisserie. Inside the candy pink facade are many delicious treats like croissants and other French confections to enjoy alongside an espresso.
Additional Places | Boil Boil Ramen, Taco Mix, Burger Joint and One Girl Cookies
You can dicover all of the food options here.
Shopping
More retailers, especially home shops are moving into the area including the second location of the impossibly pretty ABC Home & Carpet. There is also a Restoration Hardware, Design Within Reach outlets and Teressa Foglia, a bespoke hat maker. Soon, our favorite middle eastern grocer Sahadis will open their second location in Brooklyn.

Communal spaces
There are many places to kick back and relax if you have entered into a food coma. Between the buildings are green lawns, art works and tables. If the weather isn’t on your side, there are plenty of options to sink into a plush sofa and enjoy.
