Mansfield Plantation | A Southern Beauty with Old World Charm

In part two of our southern road trip, ROSE & IVY’s Monica Picca booked a room at the Mansfield Plantation, a bed & breakfast with Old World charm in Georgetown, South Carolina. Located on a sprawling 1,000 acres, the historic retreat is the oldest preserved antebellum rice plantation in the United States. The property is comprised of both a main building and guest houses, where each is unique and furnished with antiques and colonial details. To explore the grounds, grab a complimentary bike and take a leisurely ride and enjoy the natural beauty of rich forests, open marshes and former rice fields. 

Begin each morning with a dose of southern hospitality by enjoying a home cooked breakfast that is served in the dinning hall of the main house, complete with candle light and a healthy side of grits. As your day draws to an end, you can drink in the romantic beauty of a sunset with a glass of wine by the outdoor fire or by gliding on the swing that hangs from the old oak tree. Either way you choose to spend your time at the Mansfield Plantation, you’ll be lulled into the relaxing simplicity of another time.
