The Beauty Object | Lalique Perfume Bottle

A fine fragrance is truly a work of art, so it is only fitting that it should be showcased in an equally artful package.  So why not pour your favorite perfume into a beautiful flaçon and display it on your dressing table?  There is something wonderfully luxurious about dabbing scent on your pulse points versus spritzing it from an ordinary spray bottle. 

There are many varieties of fragrance decanters to choose from, but some of the most beautiful designs ever created came from fabled French crystal house Lalique.  Rene Lalique began as a jewellery designer but later expanded into art glass.  In 1907, his work came to the attention of renowned perfumer François Coty, who commissioned him to design bottles for the fragrance industry. After Mr. Lalique’s death in 1945, his son Marc took over the company, and they transitioned into the production of crystal. Today, this legendary brand offers not only fine jewellery, glass and crystal but also art, fragrances and a variety of luxurious homewares at its global boutiques. The storied history of Lalique is now preserved at the recently opened Lalique Museum in Wingen-sur-Moder, France, the same small village where Mr. Lalique set up a glassworks in 1921, the only Lalique factory in the world today.
