R&I Travels | Escape to Hudson, New York
Escape to Hudson, New York
Where to Eat & Shop
It is hard to believe that the unofficial end of summer is this weekend, anyone else in denial? For some reason this summer I have been carrying on like summer will last forever. It has been an interesting summer, more on that later. If you are looking to flea the City, or make a run for the countryside, I cannot recommend Hudson, New York enough. The first time I went there was few years ago for a fashion shoot for ROSE & IVY - you can see that here. We stayed in a glorious Georgian style home right in from of the Hudson River. Flash forward almost two years later, I returned for an upcoming story for the next issue of the magazine and took a whole day to enjoy the town. The architecture in the Hudson Valley is noteworthy - some of the homes have such exquisite details. Since my last visit, the town is bursting with curated boutiques in addition to a host of antique shops. Here are the places that caught my eye and taste buds!
Mutiny's serene courtyard
The colorful interior of Minna
The eclectic offerings in Carousel Antique Center
Finch Hudson's beautiful modern furniture
Red Chair Antiques's beautiful presentation of French silverware and Swedish pieces.
Just like in Provence, the courtyard at Red Chair Antiques
The cozy furniture at Hawkins New York
