Mask Mondays | S.W. Basics Hibiscus Mask

ROSE & IVY Journal Mask Monday | S.W. Basics Hibiscus Mask

Excited to kick off a new Mask Monday feature with S.W. Basics.  Let me first start out by talking about the brilliance of Adina Grigore, the founder of the brand.  In a world where skincare can climb well over the $100s, she has been the leader in accessibly priced products that are pure and actually good for you.  Based in Brooklyn, S.W. Basics practices full transparency, meaning, each of the products are marked with just how many ingredients are inside.  Not only that, but they are organic, wild-crafted and never tested on animals.

So let's talk about the Hibiscus Mask.  This deep maroon tinted mask, which smells divine, transforms from a powder to a mousse by just adding water.  As indicated on the package, there are only three ingredients inside - organic hibiscus, French green clay and Organic Lavender.

Hibiscus acts as a natural alpha hydroxy acid to slough-off dead skin cells, while clay draws out toxins and other dirt that can clog pores.  The addition of lavender provides an over all calming feeling for the mind and the complexion.

What We Love About It: The DIY mix-it-your self mask allows you to vary the consistency of the product.  The aroma immediately induced feelings of relaxation, plus the formula dried fairly quickly so it is an easy -on-easy-off type of mask.  Oh and it's affordable, hovering around $20!
