New York By Design | While We Were Young

If you like to dine among a pretty setting outfitted with tufted pink seating, marble surfaces, gold details with a bevy of roses then I recommend you head to While We Were Young, a new West Village restaurant that has been taking New York and Instagram by storm.

Bradford Dunigan wanted to create a space that didn't have the overplayed design elements that is a custom in so many of the moment places in Manhattan, like exposed brick and Edison light bulbs. Rather he dreamed up a space that is just pretty - think pink tufted cushions, an array of marble, soft blue stools accented with gold and more rose petals scattered about than you can count. While the locale is discernibly feminine, it has unexpected design elements as well, like the marble bar top that is cut in the shape of a wave or the wood panels that mimic a surf board. While the space is quite small, only 500 square feet, the large windows that open to West 10th Street make it feel larger than it actually is in size.  So what's in the name? He believes the phrase 'while we were young' sparks a special type of emotion inside of people.  Here is a peak inside of this beautiful restaurant.

The Food: The restaurant serves brunch on the weekends and dinner every night of the week.  You can find starters like burrata with honeycomb and mains like house made pasta with celery root and black truffles.
