A Taste of New York | Brunch at Vinegar Hill House (Home of the Epic Pancake)
There are pancakes and then there are the pancakes from Vinegar Hill House. In one word they are 'epic'. For starters they are made of sourdough and cooked in a cast iron skillet with a lot of butter. Decadent? You bet, but worth every bite. They change by the season - apples in the fall and strawberries in the spring. They come in two sizes, small and large and are topped with a knob of melting butter. Besides the pancake, this restaurant feels like you are in the wild west, since it is located a bit off the beaten path Even the interiors look like an old saloon. I love Vinegar Hill House and it is probably one of my top places to eat in New York.
Can't make the trek to Brooklyn, but looking to make these amazing pancakes at home? Well now you can thanks to the New York Times.
