A Taste of New York | breakfast at Sauvage, Brooklyn
Breakfast is the best meal, anyone with me on that? Typically I go the egg route just to not indulge that much; however, when I read the menu at Sauvage in Greenpoint I knew I had to go with the French toast, which was insanely good. For starters it is a thick slice of buttery brioche that is encrusted in almonds and topped with a dollop of marscapone, seasonal fruit and fresh mint leaves. At the time I visited it was blueberries, but now it is rhubarb. When I visited I was the only person dining in the restaurant, after all it was a Tuesday morning so I enjoyed a solo breakfast watching the light filtering through the large windows. Plus, the latte art is on point - the barista created the shape of a dog out of milk foam. If you are looking for a delicious meal, head to Sauvage, it is a winner in every way, shape and form.
