ROSE & IVY Journal | On the Value of Print
ROSE & IVY Journal is interesting in that for the time being you can view the magazine online, free of charge, or you can purchase the printed edition for $18. Someone recently asked me why would someone buy when they can read it for free? Well, here is why!
P.S You can pre-order your copy of the Journal here. Issues will start shipping next week!
'Having a physical product in your hand to enjoy, screen-free in my opinion is a true luxury these days.'
- It is incredibly amazing to me when someone gives me feedback about the printed edition and it captures the exact essence of how I want readers to feel, when flipping through the pages. The most common mentions are it makes me feel 'relaxed', 'happy' or 'inspired'. My intention with R&I is not to tell you how to live your life, but rather, inspire you to live a beautiful life by paying attention to the beauty that exists all around.
- If you haven't had a chance to experience issue No. 05, I have been told that it a wonderful publication to display on a coffee table. The quality is very luxurious, from the pages inside to the cover paper and gold foil logo.
- About ten years ago, when I was trying to land my first job at a magazine, it was nearly impossible. Even after internships at large magazines, it just didn't happen. So many print magazines were closing to the fear that digital was the way to go. Everything in life works in cycles. Today, there are so many independent amazing magazines out there that are proving print is still alive and well and as it should be. Online doesn't do anything justice really. Having a physical product in your hand to enjoy, screen-free in my opinion is a true luxury these days. We spend entirely too much time looking down or at an illuminated object.
