Petal by Petal | the Dogwood

I scooped a bunch of dogwood branches from the Union Square market over the weekend.  They looked so pretty sitting their in the sun.  My personal obsession with magnolias and cherry blossoms have over shadowed this other bloom that appears around the same time.  The dogwood tree comes in around 60 different varieties from soft pinks to white, like featured here.  Each bloom has four prominent petals and does best in the sun or shade and can grow up to 25 feet.
