Escape | Zero George, Charleston
Zero George is a jewel of a hotel nestled in the charming streets of Charleston, just off East Bay Street. I had the pleasure of visiting while in Charleston and was immediately drawn into the beauty, from the welcoming front porch where the light filtered so perfectly, the weathered brick and the blooming camellias imparting a dose of beauty in garden. I also had the pleasure to participate in the Zero George Cafe cooking demonstration. Heralded as one of the best cooking schools in the world, it was definitely a highlight of my three days visiting. The Executive Chef of Zero George, Vinson Petrillo, was a Top Chef winner and a finalist in the S.Pellegrino Young Chef 2015 awards created a panoply of innovative recipes all around seasonal food. A few of the highlights while I attended was cauliflower that was perfectly cooked in the oven that was set on a white chocolate sauce. While it might sound like a strange pairing, it was out of this world. To book your class, click here!
