On Light & Love
I originally had other content planned for today, but due to how current events have unfolded I want to bring up one thing that I have been passionate about for as long as I can remember and that is ‘don’t’ let others dim the hope that you see in this world’. Have you ever been around negative people or situations where everyone around you is just seeping in their wallows – they see the worst and expect the worst. They accept things for what is and don’t see the potential in their life and others. They never try to make a change because they figure, what is the point? I have personally been in this unfortunate circumstance a few times and now, as a collective whole, we all have ended up in an unfortunate time with a new leader that has based his entire principles on a dismal outlook based on inflicting fear, anxiety and the worst of all, which spawns those feelings, hate. To say that I am disheartened, sad, disgusted, disappointed with the country that I live in is a bit of an understatement. I am overcome with confusion, but simultaneously I am scared that so much of the country has that same bleak outlook on life and our country. Yes, there is negativity and so many bad things that happen every day around the world, but being able to see the light and having hope is integral to any progress in life.
‘We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope.’ - MLK Jr.
So where do we go from here? Personally, once then initial shock wears off and I get some sleep (I, like many am going off of zero sleep), I am going to continue to look for beauty and inspire and share it through ROSE & IVY, because for me that is happiness. My own little bubble and world. Through happiness you can inspire and ignite greatness. Happiness isn’t complicated, although it seems at sometimes it is. Happiness is a choice and despite the gloom around I am focusing on my small interactions that can equate for the whole. The great Martin Luther King Jr. said ‘We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope.’ I am keeping that in my mind for the days to come because I know that the future is stunningly bright.
