PETAL BY PETAL | 'MISS AMERICA' PEONY

I received the sad news at the flower market over the weekend that it is almost the end of peony season.  They figure there is about two weeks left, such a sad fact!  Peonies are one of my favorite flowers and come in so many different varieties, I feel like each season I discover a new kind.  This variety is aptly called 'Miss America'.  It is showy, beautiful and definitely commands your attention.  What makes this type of peony different from a lot of other pink varieties is that the center is a vibrant yellow shade and like all peonies, it has a wonderful floral scent.
