Life Thoughts | Full Circle Thinking
For the longest period of time, I had a dream to do a particular thing and it just never happened. No matter how hard that I tried, this certain thing that I had my sites on just never came to fruition. I am not speaking too specifically or naming this so-called 'dream' (I hope to talk about it more in the future) because right now I have to be a bit vague.
I would always categorize myself as a big dreamer. If someone tells me I cannot do something, it makes me just that more motivated to achieve it. Recently, something happened to me that made me have stop, pinch myself and ask, 'is this really happening?'. For the first time, it wasn't something bad, but really, really good. Something actually happened that I had dreamed about for so long, but the funny thing is that it didn't happen the way that I had expected it to happen. I had to stop, soak it up and realize that something had come full circle for me. For the longest time, I thought that the path was straight and narrow and if I put one foot in front of another it would put me to where I needed to be. WRONG, so very wrong. The path was not clear. I had to persevere and practically go around in a circle to get to this particular moment, if I had known this truth, say three or even ten years ago, it would have saved me a ton of stress, anxiety and unhappiness. I learned an important lesson - sometimes when you want something in life, it doesn't come the packaged way that you had hoped, but if you continually work towards it and never give up, it will happen. Maybe not the way that you had hoped, but it will be so much sweeter when that moment arrives. I think back to one of my favorite movies from childhood and am reminded of the quote 'You had the power all along, my dear', I never realized how true that saying was until recently. Has this ever happened to you?
