The Recipe Box | (Easy) Chocolate layer Cake
I rarely need an excuse to bake a cake, actually I seek out opportunities to do so. Today I have a great excuse, to toast the upcoming winter issue of ROSE & IVY, which launches on Monday! This is the second issue and with it I am pushing the creative boundaries even more. I am collaborating with a talented designer so you will notice a few tweaks here and there that I cannot wait to unveil in a few days. That being said, chocolate cake is always a good idea in my humble opinion. I have a favorite chocolate cake recipe that I adapted from Bon Appétit, but it is quite involved, meaning it calls for a few different bowls and even cleaning the mixer once. This recipe is incredibly easy because it doesn't require beating the sugar with the butter like a typical cake recipe, which yields a favorable result of a sponge-like and very moist cake. Topped with whipped chocolate ganache, this cake is perfect for the chocolate lover.
