Petal by Petal | Camellia
Camellia's are the rare jewels of winter. They bloom despite the cold temperatures in an array of shades. I especially love when the flowers fall to the ground creating a beautiful blanket, unlike say roses, where they fall to the ground petal by petal (no pun intended). I snapped these beauties in Charleston. I just love their layers - they look like a cross between a carnation and a peony.
