The Recipe Box | Salted Chocolate Chip Cookies

I am excited to debut a new column here today called The Recipe Box, where I will share recipes that I believe everyone should have in their cooking arsenal.  We all have those times that we need to pull something together fast, whether it be friends or family coming over on short notice or you are looking for a classic recipe that requires very little thought.  Today I am starting out with a favorite of mine, some might say weakness, chocolate chip cookies. I have tried many different recipes in my day, some that were better than others.  I recently discovered this recipe from Bon Appétit for Salted Chocolate Chunk Cookies and decided to give it a whirl.  I found it interesting that it includes three different types of sugar - light brown, regular sugar and powdered sugar.  The result was really fantastic - these cookies are incredibly chewy and strike the perfect balance between salty and sweet, thanks to the Maldon flakes sprinkled on top just before baking.
